Russia suspends grants for IT development till Sep 1

MOSCOW, Jul 17 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Digital Development Ministry has suspended grants for new IT developments till September 1 and will update decision-making agencies, the ministry said on Monday in a statement.

“The Digital Development Ministry will suspend distribution of new grants for new developments in the IT industry until September 1; hold an independent assessment of competences of the employees of RFRIT, the core grants operator; update composition of the decision-making agencies and the pool of experts taking part in evaluation of applications; audit the 2022–2023decisions on allocation of grants; and cancel the projects with doubts in 100% of integrity,” the statement read.

The ministry will optimize decision making for the grants to exclude entirely the influence of the ministry’s employees, ensure transparency and openness of all stages of the launch and fulfilment of such initiatives.

The ministry added it will consider all the complaints and suggestions on optimization of processes and procedures and will disclose results.
